In 2013 June, my condo had a massive chemical flood. I had to evacuate immediately, taking very few of my possessions along. I had to part with my beloved piano for 7 months. During that 7 months, I discovered a new passion: painting. I never painted before, but without a piano readily available, I decided to do something new.

I have since then discovered a new way to convey feelings. How to use brush strokes, colors and shapes to communicate emotions. Piano teachers often coach students to hear sound as 'color'.  Some people literally see colors when they hear music (a neurological condition called 'synaesthesia'). I love to imagine scenes when listening to music.  With painting, I can now express the visions I see.
